Feng Cha Boba Tea Is Coming to Elyson Town Center Near Anniston

Anniston  /   Katy / Fulshear
October 06 2026

For residents in Anniston who rarely turn down a boba run, a familiar Texas-born tea shop is getting closer to home.

Feng Cha is planning a new location at Elyson Town Center, 7040 Elyson Exchange Way, Building E, Suite 300, in the Cypress area, according to a recently filed project registration with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The new shop will occupy approximately 1,280 square feet in the developing shopping and dining destination near Grand Parkway and FM 529.

The filing calls for a $150,000 interior finish-out for a Feng Cha franchise, with construction currently scheduled to begin Oct. 19, 2026, and reach completion Feb. 17, 2027. The project is privately funded.

An official opening date has not been announced, and construction schedules can change, but the filing gives residents their clearest indication yet that Feng Cha is on its way to Elyson Town Center.

Another Dining Option Takes Shape at Elyson Town Center

For Anniston residents, the arrival adds another name to a retail center that is steadily becoming a dining and everyday-services destination for families living along the fast-growing Grand Parkway and FM 529 corridor.

Elyson Town Center is planned as a roughly 190,000-square-foot community hub. Its growing lineup includes Chipotle, Smoothie King, MilkShake Factory, Shipley Do-Nuts, Haraz Coffee House, Coco Crepes, Onyx Nail Bar and other businesses, with some locations already open and additional tenants on the way.

Feng Cha will be moving into Building E, a roughly 7,000-square-foot retail building constructed as part of the center.

That location puts the future boba shop in the middle of an area where residents are gaining more reasons to stay close to home for coffee, meals, desserts and quick errands rather than heading farther into Katy or Cypress.

Feng Cha Started in Texas and Has Grown to More Than 80 Locations

Although Feng Cha has expanded well beyond North Texas, the boba tea brand got its start in the Lone Star State.

According to the company, Feng Cha grew out of a tradition shared by two college friends who later became husband and wife. The pair spent time together at a local boba shop and eventually decided to create a similar gathering place of their own.

They opened the first Feng Cha in Richardson, Texas, in December 2017. What began as one neighborhood tea shop has since grown to more than 80 locations across the United States, according to the company.

The concept is built as much around customization as it is around boba. Feng Cha's current menu includes milk teas, blended drinks, fruit drinks, matcha beverages, coffee, au lait selections, original teas and milk foam teas. The brand also offers Milk Foam Cakes for customers looking for something sweet to pair with a drink.

Current menu selections include drinks such as Matcha Latte, Mango Matcha Latte, Vietnamese Coffee, Coffee Milk Tea and a variety of customizable teas and toppings. Feng Cha also highlights drinks including Creme Brulee Dirty Boba, Mango Fantasy and Strawberry Overload among its featured offerings.

Feng Cha Already Has a Following Around Katy and Cypress

The Elyson Town Center shop will not be Feng Cha's first introduction to this part of the Houston area.

The brand currently operates a Cypress location at 20725 Tuckerton Road, as well as Feng Cha Cinco Ranch at 9555 Spring Green Boulevard in Katy.

Feng Cha has also expanded across Greater Houston, giving the brand an established presence in the region before its planned arrival at Elyson Town Center.

For residents who already make trips to the Cypress or Cinco Ranch shops, the Elyson location could bring the same boba, fruit tea, matcha and dessert options considerably closer to neighborhoods surrounding FM 529 and Grand Parkway.

What Happens Next for Feng Cha at Elyson Town Center?

The state filing lists Feb. 17, 2027, as the anticipated construction completion date, but that should not be confused with a confirmed opening date. Restaurant and retail projects can still require final inspections, equipment installation, hiring, training and other preparations before welcoming customers.

Still, the filing puts another piece of Elyson Town Center's growing lineup into place.

For boba fans in Anniston, that means a milk tea, fruit tea or matcha run could soon require a considerably shorter drive, while another new business prepares to join the changing retail landscape around Grand Parkway and FM 529.
