
Cy Springs, Cy Falls Capture District Titles as Six CFISD Teams Advance to UIL Playoffs
The Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District (CFISD) wrapped up an exciting girls’ basketball season on Feb. 6, with six teams securing spots in the UIL playoffs. Cypress Springs High School and Cypress Falls High School emerged as district champions in District 16-6A and District 17-6A, respectively, setting the stage for a competitive postseason run.
Cypress Springs High School continued its dominance in District 16-6A, securing its third consecutive district title with a flawless 14-0 record. The Panthers’ strong performance throughout the season solidified their status as the outright district champions.
Cypress Ranch High School followed closely behind, finishing the season with a 12-2 district record. Bridgeland High School and Cypress Lakes High School each posted an 8-3 district record, earning their spots in the playoffs.
In District 17-6A, Cypress Falls High School clinched the championship with a 13-1 district record. Stratford High School and Memorial High School, both from Spring ISD, secured the second and third seeds with 12-2 and 10-4 records, respectively. Jersey Village High School rounded out the district’s playoff qualifiers as the fourth seed with an 8-6 record.

Tickets for the highly anticipated playoff games are priced at $5 for both adults and students. Fans can purchase tickets online for Cypress Springs, Cypress Ranch, and Bridgeland matchups. Tickets for Cypress Lakes games will be available through Waller ISD, while those for Cypress Falls and Jersey Village can be obtained through Houston ISD.
With district championships secured and postseason matchups set, CFISD teams are ready to compete at the highest level. As they prepare to take the court, excitement builds among players, coaches, and fans, all eager to see how far these talented teams can go in their quest for a state title.
