Cy-Fair ISD Basketball Coaches Release Finalized Bracket for 15th Annual Cy-Hoops Invitational

The excitement is building for the 15th annual Houston Methodist Cy-Hoops Invitational, as basketball coaches from Cy-Fair ISD (CFISD) have unveiled the finalized bracket for the much-anticipated event, which will take place from Dec. 12-14. This year’s tournament promises to showcase top-tier basketball talent from across the region, featuring 24 teams over three thrilling days of competition.

The Cy-Hoops Invitational, held in partnership with underwriter Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital, will span three CFISD high school campuses and the Berry Center arena. The tournament has garnered support from a number of premier sponsors, including Cypress Falls High School graduate John Daspit of Daspit Law Firm, Sacramento Kings point guard De’Aaron Fox (a Cypress Lakes High School alum), Spradley Endodontics, Spring Cypress Oral Surgery and Implant Center, and Wainwright Dental and Associates. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Cy-Fair Educational Foundation’s scholarships for graduating CFISD seniors, making it an event with both athletic and community-minded impact.

Tournament Locations and Game Schedule

The games will be hosted at the following CFISD high schools and the Berry Center:

  • Cypress Park High School (7425 Westgreen Blvd)
  • Cypress Woods High School (13550 Woods-Spillane Blvd)
  • Langham Creek High School (17610 FM 529)
  • Berry Center (8877 Barker Cypress Rd – entrance 2)

Tournament games begin on Thursday, Dec. 12, with an exciting first-round lineup. Here is the schedule for the opening day:

Thursday, Dec. 12 – First-Round Games
  • 5:00 p.m.

    • Cypress Falls vs. Dickinson (Cypress Park gym 1)
    • Jersey Village vs. Mansfield Summit (Cypress Park gym 2)
    • Cypress Ridge vs. Fort Bend Marshall (Cypress Woods gym 1)
    • Strake Jesuit vs. Waxahachie (Cypress Woods gym 2)
    • Bridgeland vs. Austin Westlake (Langham Creek gym 1)
    • Cypress Creek vs. Cypress Lakes (Langham Creek gym 2)
  • 6:30 p.m.

    • Cypress Park vs. Klein Cain (Cypress Park gym 1)
    • Cypress Ranch vs. Humble Summer Creek (Cypress Park gym 2)
    • Cypress Woods vs. Converse Judson (Cypress Woods gym 1)
    • Cypress Springs vs. CE King (Cypress Woods gym 2)
    • Langham Creek vs. The Colony (Langham Creek gym 1)
    • Cy-Fair vs. Killeen Shoemaker (Langham Creek gym 2)

Each team is guaranteed three games, and the tournament will continue throughout Friday, Dec. 13, at Cypress Woods, Langham Creek, and the Berry Center. The tournament’s semifinals are scheduled for 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14, at the Berry Center, with the championship game to follow at 5:30 p.m. The consolation final will take place after the championship game.

Tickets and Special Events

Tickets for the tournament are priced at $5 for adults and $3 for students. A tournament pass, which grants access to all games from Thursday through Saturday, will be available for $10. Note that no cash will be taken and individual ticket links are available for either single-day tickets and tournament passes for both Thursday and Friday, as well as single-day tickets for Saturday. In line with safety protocols, the Berry Center has implemented a clear bag policy.

Friday, Dec. 13, will be designated as CFISD Middle School Night at the Berry Center. Students who wear a school team jersey and are accompanied by a parent will receive free admission. Additionally, halftime competitions for participants will be held during the 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. games.

Saturday’s Halftime Performances

Saturday’s games at the Berry Center will feature a variety of halftime performances from local talent, including:

  • Cypress Park African Student Association Dance Team
  • Dance Central
  • Order My Steps Step Team
  • Rennell Elementary REDs and Redhawks Dance Teams
  • Blue Bows Cheer/Dance Team
  • Basketball For All Inc.

With an exciting lineup of games and performances, the 15th annual Cy-Hoops Invitational is sure to be an event that basketball fans won’t want to miss. The tournament not only celebrates athleticism and competition but also supports the educational efforts of CFISD through the Cy-Fair Educational Foundation scholarships.
