Cy-Fair Fire Department Hosts CPR Classes for Heart Awareness Month
February is American Heart Month, and your local fire department wants to help ensure that families across the region are armed with life-saving training when your loved ones need it most. Whether you are at home or on the go, every second counts when your loved one suffers cardiac arrest, and it can happen to anyone, anytime. Arm yourself with these surprising facts about CPR from the American Heart Association, and learn more about local resources to get CPR trained this month.
Did You Know? CPR Fast Facts
- Immediate CPR can double or triple chances of survival after cardiac arrest.
- In one year alone, 436,000 Americans die from a cardiac arrest.
- More than 350,000 cardiac arrests occur outside of the hospital each year.
- If performed immediately, CPR can double or triple the chance of survival from an out of hospital cardiac arrest.
Heartsaver® CPR AED Course
Heartsaver CPR AED is available in two different training methods – blended learning and classroom training. All Heartsaver CPR AED course options teach the same AHA science-based skills and result in the same AHA Course Completion Card.
Heartsaver CPR AED is geared for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a course completion card, valid for two years. Please contact your employer to ensure that you are selecting the correct course.

American Heart Association Friends and Family CPR Class
In this class, attendees will learn basic first aid and CPR. Please note that while you will learn important life-saving skills, attendees will not leave the class with a CPR certification. You will learn what to do before first responders arrive if there is a medical emergency in your home so you can help provide potentially life-saving intervention when your loved ones need it most.
