Two powerhouse teams from Cypress-Fairbanks ISD are making headlines as they advance deeper into the UIL Class 6A softball playoffs. Both Cy-Fair High School and Langham Creek High School clinched decisive bi-district victories, earning them spots in this week’s area round matchups.
Cy-Fair Bobcats Dominate in Bi-District Shutout
The Cy-Fair Bobcats wasted no time making their playoff presence known, delivering a commanding 10-0 victory over Houston ISD's Lamar High School in the bi-district round. The Bobcats’ win was a shutout performance that reinforced their reputation as one of the top high school softball teams in the region.
Cy-Fair will now face Katy High School in a highly anticipated best-of-three series:
- Game 1: May 1 at 6 p.m. at Katy High School (6331 Highway Blvd.)
- Game 2: May 2 at 6 p.m. at Cy-Fair High School (22602 Northwest Freeway)

Langham Creek Lobos Secure Series Win Over Tomball Memorial
The Langham Creek Lobos also came out strong in the bi-district round, defeating Tomball Memorial in back-to-back games. Their best-of-three series ended with a 9-3 win followed by a 2-0 shutout, showcasing the Lobos' versatility and focus under playoff pressure.
Langham Creek advances to play New Caney High School in another best-of-three showdown:

- Game 2: May 1 at 6:30 p.m. at Langham Creek High School (17610 FM 529)
- Game 3 (if necessary): May 3 at 11 a.m. at Klein Collins High School (20811 Ella Blvd.)
Other CFISD Teams Wrap Up Postseason Appearances
While Cy-Fair and Langham Creek prepare for the next round, other CFISD softball teams concluded strong seasons despite early exits from the playoffs:
- Cypress Ranch High School, the District 16-6A second seed, fell in a tight 3-1 loss to Klein, ending their playoff run as bi-district finalists.
- Bridgeland High School, the District 16-6A third seed, lost a close best-of-three series to Klein Oak, with game scores of 6-5 and 5-2.
