Cupbop, the fast-growing Korean BBQ-in-a-cup sensation that first made national waves on Shark Tank, is bringing its unique fusion of Korean flavors, customizable bowls, and high-energy atmosphere to the Cy-Fair area in Northwest Houston this December.
The new location, opening mid-December 2025 at 12620 FM 1960 Rd. W., Suite C-4, Houston, TX 77065, will mark Cupbop’s second in the Houston metro area. The Pasadena store is set to celebrate its grand opening just weeks earlier on November 14. The Cy-Fair location will offer a fresh and fun option for families, young professionals, students, and food lovers looking for something crave-worthy, quick, and customizable.
Founded by Junghun “Jung” Song, Cupbop’s journey began as a single food truck in Utah when Jung saw a gap in accessible Korean cuisine at a U.S. food conference. His solution? Layer bold Korean BBQ flavors into a portable cup with rice, noodles, veggies, and protein—all topped with sauces that range from sweet to spicy. The idea caught on quickly, and Cupbop now has hundreds of locations worldwide. A memorable appearance on Shark Tank with co-founder Dok Kwon helped launch the brand into national stardom after securing a deal with billionaire Mark Cuban.

“Houston is one of the fastest growing and most diverse food cities in the U.S., and we’re excited to bring a fresh take on Korean BBQ to the community,” said Karim Haji, CEO/COO of Grafton Way Restaurant Group, the operator behind Cupbop’s Houston locations. “We want everyone who walks through our doors to experience the energy and joy that Cupbop brings, whether they’re trying Korean food for the first time or coming back for a favorite bowl”.
At the heart of Cupbop’s appeal is its “cup of wow”—a fully customizable bowl that begins with rice, noodles, and cabbage, then layered with your choice of proteins like Rock Bop (crispy Korean fried chicken), B Bop (bulgogi beef), or Piggy Bop (Korean-style pork). From there, guests can choose their sauce heat level, making each visit a new and exciting flavor adventure. The menu also accommodates gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan diets, ensuring everyone in the family can find something to enjoy.
Beyond the food, Cupbop is known for its upbeat, K-pop–inspired atmosphere and commitment to community engagement. Through its nonprofit BOPSIM Foundation, the company supports youth, education, and cultural awareness by donating meals, sponsoring festivals, and working with local organizations across the country. Events like the BOPSIM Festival promote Korean food, dance, and music on college campuses, and proceeds go toward educational programming and student success initiatives.
