Construction Underway for New Jimmy Changas Restaurant in Richmond on Grand Parkway
Construction is officially underway on a new Jimmy Changas restaurant at 11135 W. Grand Parkway S. in Richmond, marking a $6 million investment in one of Fort Bend County’s fastest-growing areas. The project broke ground in August and is scheduled for completion by early March 2026.
The nearly 10,000-square-foot Tex-Mex destination will feature a full-service bar, takeout options, and one of Jimmy Changas’ signature attractions — Jimmy’s Jungle, the spacious indoor/outdoor playground that has become a favorite for families across the Houston region.
Expanding a Beloved Tex-Mex Brand
Jimmy Changas, founded in 2011 by restaurateur Russell Ybarra (also the founder of Gringo’s Mexican Kitchen), has grown into a well-known community staple for “Fresh. Mex. Fun.” dining. The brand blends high-quality Tex-Mex cuisine with a playful, family-friendly atmosphere that includes free soft-serve cones, a fire-and-water fountain centerpiece, and its iconic monkey mascot.
The menu is as bold and colorful as the atmosphere, featuring sizzling fajitas, enchiladas, tacos, and Tex-Mex classics alongside crowd favorites like stuffed avocados, seafood specialties, and hearty combination plates. Guests can also enjoy a wide range of “Wild Margaritas” and specialty cocktails, as well as family-friendly options like nachos, quesadillas, and kid-approved plates.
