Conroe ISD Toy Drive Begins Monday, November 13

November 10 2023

The Conroe ISD Police Department will be collecting items for the 22nd annual Children in Santa’s Dreams Toy Drive beginning Monday, November 13, through Friday, December 8 at 29 Conroe ISD campus locations.

Founded by the Police Activities League (PAL), this Christmas program is dedicated to less fortunate children in the Conroe Independent School District. Children in Santa’s Dreams provides gifts and stockings for our children enrolled in school and their siblings who may be too young to attend school. New, unwrapped toys will be collected for boys and girls of all ages. These gifts will be wrapped and given to families who, without support, may not otherwise have a wonderful Christmas.

Last year, Children in Santa’s Dreams provided gifts to 1,196 children in 551 families. Since 2002, the program has helped make 15,000 children’s Christmas a little merrier with gifts and stockings.

How it Works

Citizens, service organizations, and youth organizations are invited to participate  by donating new, unwrapped gifts and/or by attending an annual wrapping party where all donated toys and gifts are organized by age and gender. Each volunteer receives a family identified only by a number. The volunteer is asked to pick out gifts for each child listed and wrap the gifts selected. The number of gifts each child receives is determined by the amount of donations and number of students referred by the program. In past years, 1-3 gifts per child have been given, with the addition of one game per family.
