Connie’s Frozen Custard Hosts Soft Launch Ahead of Highly Anticipated Towne Lake Official Opening January 14
For more than two decades, Connie’s Frozen Custard has been a beloved hidden gem in Houston’s Cy-Fair community—a place where regulars gather for thick concretes, mile-high sundaes, and that first creamy spoonful of freshly churned frozen custard. Now, the small-but-mighty dessert shop is giving Cypress residents their first taste of that magic, starting this week.
Connie’s will host a soft opening at its brand-new Towne Lake location—located at 11231 Greenhouse Rd, Suite 100, Cypress, TX 77433—in the evening on Wednesday, January 7 and Thursday, January 6 starting at 5 PM. This low-key opening is a thank-you to their most loyal fans who have followed along on social media, eagerly anticipating the second location.
“This is our chance to settle into our new space and make adjustments before the official launch,” the Connie’s team shared on social media.
The official launch is set for Wednesday, January 14, with full operating hours to be announced soon.
From One Sweet Shop to a Cult Following
Connie’s Frozen Custard isn’t just opening a second location—they’re bringing a legacy of joy, flavor, and community with them. The original shop on Jones Road opened in April 2000, founded on a simple idea: make high-quality frozen custard the old-fashioned way, serve it with a smile, and treat every customer like family.
Over the years, Connie’s has earned a devoted following across Houston and beyond. Fans rave about the silky-smooth texture of the custard, made fresh daily with just the right amount of egg yolk for that signature richness. It’s the kind of place where memories are made—first dates, after-school treats, family traditions.

Connie’s has also earned national acclaim: in 2022, Yelp named it the #1 ice cream shop in Texas, and in 2023, it landed on Yelp’s list of the Top 100 Ice Cream Shops in America.
A Natural Fit for Towne Lake
Now, Connie’s is expanding into Towne Lake Market, a new retail development at the corner of Cypress North Houston and Greenhouse Road. Developed by Caldwell Companies, the 18,000-square-foot shopping center is built with families in mind—featuring drive-thru service, high visibility, and proximity to both US 290 and Barker Cypress Road.
For Connie’s, Towne Lake is the perfect next step: a growing community full of families, foodies, and neighbors who appreciate the same things that have always defined Connie’s—generous portions, honest ingredients, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
What You’ll Find at the New Location
During the soft opening, guests can expect the full Connie’s experience, including:
- Signature frozen custard in vanilla and chocolate, plus seasonal flavors
- Legendary sundaes like the J.B.’s Texas Turtle and Brownie Sundae
- Custom-built concretes, with dozens of mix-ins to choose from
- Classic floats, malts, and shakes
- To-go pints and quarts—perfect for custard lovers who want to stock up
- Friendly faces behind the counter, ready to serve with heart
As staffing increases, the Towne Lake shop will roll out updated hours (slightly different from the Jones Road location), ensuring even more availability for Cypress customers to grab their favorite frozen fix.
