Texas Master Chorale Christmas Concert: The Gift of Love - Glad Tidings

Welcome the Holidays with Texas Master Chorale! Songs and Sounds of Christmas featuring "Glad Tidings" by Randol Alan Bass for narrator, soloists, choir and orchestra Saturday, December 16, 2023 7:30 PM interwoven with timeless Christmas carol favorites.

Our Christmas concert begins with “Glad Tidings”, which was commissioned and performed by the Houston Symphony with George HW Bush as the narrator. The composer, Randol Bass was born in Fort Worth and raised in Midland. An accomplished musician and composer, his music has been commissioned by many of this country’s professional symphony orchestras and symphony choruses. “Glad Tidings” tells the story of Jesus’ life through narration and a medley of traditional Christmas melodies.

Each Christmas the Texas Master Chorale invites a local high school choir to join us on our concert. This year the Klein Collins High School Chorale under the direction of Elizabeth Marks will be our featured group. They will perform several selections alone and will combine with TMC for an exciting finale.
