Live Music: El Sistema

El Sistema Texas was established in July 2022 as an innovative musical education and inclusion program aimed at Hispanic school-age children. Its goal is to create symphony orchestras and choirs to promote social organization and humanistic development, allowing music to become an integral part of everyone’s daily life. The philosophy of El Sistema Texas is based on the conviction that children can experience choral and orchestral practice from an early age, instilling essential values such as responsibility, friendship, and respect. Inspired by the successful model of El Sistema de Orquestas y Coros Infantiles y Juveniles de Venezuela, the founders of El Sistema Texas aim to provide children and young people with high-quality, productive, and enriching music education without distinction of race, ethnicity, or social status.

After one year, El Sistema Texas received recognition from the State of Texas for the valuable and hard work in the community, proclaiming in this way every July 17 the day of El Sistema Texas.

Today El Sistema Texas has around 140 young musicians between the Children Choir, Preparatory Orchestra, Youth Choir, Children Orchestra, and Youth Orchestra, where every Saturday they receive the high level formation for being the next music generation in the state of Texas.
