Experience the life of early Texans at Katy ISD’s 39th Annual Folk Life Festival. This exciting event will take place on April 5, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Kenneth D. Welch Outdoor Learning Center.

Attendees will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in Texas pioneer life through over a dozen engaging presentations and hands-on demonstrations, such as:
  • Texas Pioneer Soldier re-enactments
  • Blacksmith demonstrations
  • Honeybee keeping
  • Chuck wagon skills
  • Dulcimer music
  • Quilting, spinning, and weaving
  • Archery and Native American culture
  • Texas cowboy camp and more!

Guests can also enjoy exploring the OLC with science and history exhibits, nature trails, and interactive pioneer games.

This family-friendly event is free to attend, with delicious concessions available from Chick-fil-A. Whether you’re looking to learn about early Texas history or simply enjoy a day outdoors, Katy ISD’s Folk Life Festival promises a memorable experience for all.
