Free Camping Weekend at Helton Nature Park

Join the San Antonio River Authority for a free camping weekend at John William Helton San Antonio River Nature Park. Campsite booking fees are waived Friday, March 6 through Sunday, March 8, 2026. Check-in begins at 3:00 PM Friday and check-out is 11:00 AM Sunday. Bring tents, blankets and chairs—Campside Cinema starts at 6:00 PM on Friday. Park staff will manage site assignments and provide basic guidance; campers should follow all posted park rules and Leave No Trace practices. Reservations are required because campsites are limited.

This event is an opportunity to enjoy Helton’s trails, pecan groves, river access and pavilion, and to learn how the San Antonio River Authority supports river health and local recreation.
