Description

The course will cover essential computer skills, including understanding hardware components, operating systems, file management, and basic software applications. Students will learn to navigate the internet, use email, and protect their privacy and security online.

Practical lessons will guide learners through the use of popular productivity tools, such as word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations. By the end of the course, students will have gained the foundational knowledge and confidence to use computers effectively for both personal and professional purposes.

Course Objectives:
  • Understand the basic components of a computer and how they work together.
  • Learn how to operate an operating system (e.g., Windows).
  • Develop skills in file management and organizing documents.
  • Navigate the internet safely and efficiently.
  • Use email and basic communication tools.
  • Understand cybersecurity basics, including safe online practices.
  • Overview of Microsoft Office or equivalent software (i.e. Word, Excel).
  • Develop basic troubleshooting skills to resolve common computer issues.

Course Duration: 4-6 weeks, with weekly lessons and hands-on practice.
