Community Forum in Cy-Fair: Understanding School Boards Ahead of the CFISD Election
18650 Clay Road
Houston ,TX 77084
The League of Women Voters Cy-Fair is inviting the community to a free educational event designed to demystify the role of local school boards and their impact on residents’ daily lives. The Community Forum: What is a School Board & What Do They Do? event will take place on Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Steve Radack Community Center, located at 18650 Clay Rd., Houston, TX 77084.
With a CFISD school board election scheduled for November 4, 2025, this timely event will help residents understand the responsibilities, decision-making authority, and community influence of school boards—whether or not they have children enrolled in local schools.
This is not a candidate debate or campaign event. Instead, the program will feature a panel of former CFISD school board trustees who will share insights into the purpose, duties, and real-world effects of board decisions. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and gain a clearer perspective on how school boards shape education policy, budgets, and community priorities.
