Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen is Coming to Tomball
Fans of made-from-scratch comfort food have something new to look forward to in Tomball. Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, a national restaurant chain known for its homestyle meals and welcoming dining experience, is building a new location at 27659 Tomball Pkwy, Tomball, TX 77377.
Construction will officially begin in January 2026, with an expected completion in mid-August 2026 The restaurant will span 5,864 square feet and is part of a $3.5 million investment that includes new construction, site landscaping, utilities, and a dedicated parking lot.
Founded in Arlington, Texas in 1979, Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen has grown to more than 180 restaurants across the United States. It is part of the Darden Restaurants group, which also owns Olive Garden, LongHorn Steakhouse, and The Capital Grille.

Cheddar’s is best known for its from-scratch approach, featuring guest favorites like hand-breaded chicken tenders, homemade chicken pot pie, honey-butter croissants, slow-cooked pot roast, and classic comfort plates like country-fried steak and mac & cheese.
The new Tomball location is part of continued interest from national chains in serving the growing suburban population of northwest Harris County. The area has seen a rise in both population and new residential development, making it an attractive market for family-style dining.
