
CFISD Names Crystal Romanelli as New Principal for Anthony Middle School
Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District (CFISD) has appointed Crystal Romanelli as the new principal of Anthony Middle School, effective Feb. 28. Romanelli, who has been with CFISD for 19 years, replaces Dr. Vivian Bennett, who was promoted to assistant superintendent for secondary curriculum and instruction on Jan. 31.
Romanelli began her career in 2006 as a science teacher at Cypress Woods High School, where she was part of the team that helped open the campus. In 2015, she transitioned into a campus instructional coach role at Cypress Woods before moving to Cypress Park High School in 2017 as a testing coordinator and director of instruction helping teacher. She was later promoted to assistant principal at Cypress Park in 2018 and assumed her current role as director of instruction in 2021.

Romanelli holds multiple certifications, including a Principal Certificate, and has completed the CFISD Leadership Academy. She has also served on various district committees, contributing to instructional development and administrative leadership.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science from Baylor University and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Lamar University.

Reflecting on her new role, Romanelli emphasized her commitment to the Anthony Middle School community.
“I am deeply grateful and honored for this privilege to serve as the next principal of Anthony Middle School,”Romanelli said. “I look forward to building relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community as we celebrate the excellence of being a Raven and creating those quality learning experiences for all students. As principal, Romanelli will oversee academic programs, school operations, and student engagement initiatives at Anthony Middle School, focusing on fostering a collaborative learning environment.
