CFISD Board to Hold Special-Called Meeting Oct. 28: Key Issues on Tax Rate, Elections & Public Input

October 23 2025

Residents in Cypress-Fairbanks and surrounding neighborhoods are encouraged to tune in or attend in person as the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District (CFISD) Board of Trustees hosts a Special-Called Board Meeting on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 5:00 PM. The meeting will take place at the Mark Henry, Ed.D. Administration Building and is open to the public, with a livestream option available at cfisd.net/our-district/board-of-trustees/board-meetings.

This meeting includes important action items that affect families, taxpayers, and voters across the CFISD community, making it a valuable opportunity for public engagement.

What’s on the Agenda?

Here’s a look at some of the key issues CFISD board members will discuss and vote on during the Oct. 28 meeting:

  • Agreement with Harris County: Trustees will consider approving an agreement with Harris County regarding the General and Special Elections scheduled for November 4, 2025.

  • 2025 Tax Rate Resolution: The Board will review and potentially approve the Maintenance & Operations (M&O) and Debt Service tax rates that support the upcoming 2025–2026 school year budget. This decision directly impacts local property taxes and school funding.

  • Financial Advisory Services: The Board will evaluate bids and contracts related to district financial planning and services.
