
Bridgeland High School Families Gear Up for Bear Necessities Event Ahead of First Day Back to School
The excitement of a new school year is in the air for Cypress South families as Bridgeland High School hosts its annual Bear Necessities event on Monday, August 11. This event is designed to take the stress out of back-to-school prep and give students a head start on everything they need to be ready when classes begin.
Seniors, Juniors, and Sophomores: Noon to 3:00 PM
For returning students, Bear Necessities offers a convenient way to handle all those start-of-year tasks:
- Pick up ID badges in the cafeteria
- Take school pictures (juniors and sophomores in the gym)
- Pick up parking permits (juniors and seniors in the cafeteria)
- Purchase Bridgeland spirit items to show off school pride from day one

Freshmen and New Bears: Evening Sessions
New students get their own special welcome later in the day:
- Last names A–L: 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM
- Last names M–Z: 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM
Freshmen and new students will:
- Pick up their ID badges and take school pictures
- Attend an energizing pep rally (5:00 PM and 6:00 PM in the auditorium)
- Follow a mock schedule to get familiar with their classrooms
- Explore BHS club tables to discover ways to get involved
- Grab spirit wear to join in the Bridgeland tradition
Building Excitement for the First Day Back
Bear Necessities is about more than logistics—it’s about building excitement, easing nerves for new students, and getting everyone connected before school officially starts across Cy-Fair ISD on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. With the first day back to school just around the corner, this event helps families check off their to-do lists while celebrating the new year ahead.
Families are encouraged to arrive at their designated times, take photos, ask questions, and enjoy the pep rallies that set the tone for a strong start.
