The Anniston Community Foundation, Inc. has wrapped up the application period for its inaugural $2,400 scholarship—and the neighborhood’s response has been nothing short of inspiring.

The Foundation extends a sincere thank-you to all the students and families who submitted their applications and transcripts for consideration. The opportunity, launched on May 14, 2025, was open to students residing in the Anniston community who are pursuing higher education at a college, university, or trade school.

Split into two equal installments of $1,200 for Fall 2025 and Spring 2026, the scholarship was designed to recognize a student who not only excels academically but also embodies leadership, service, and a strong connection to community.

Applicants were required to hold at least a 3.0 GPA and submit their materials by June 15. KRJ Management, which oversees the Anniston community, emphasized that the selection would favor those with both scholastic merit and a heart for service.

The Anniston Community Foundation—a 501(c)4 nonprofit dedicated to local investment—will now review the submissions during a Foundation Board meeting in late July. The selected recipient will be notified by Tuesday, July 15, 2025, with a public announcement to follow shortly thereafter.
