2025 Chakilla and Judge Lewis White Scholarship: Expose Excellence Youth Program Supports Fort Bend County Graduating Seniors

March 20 2025

The 2025 Chakilla and Judge Lewis White Scholarship application is officially open, offering twelve deserving high school seniors in Fort Bend County a chance to receive $2,000 in financial assistance toward their college education. Funded by Mr. and Mrs. White, this generous scholarship is aimed at supporting students as they pursue higher education at a two-year or four-year institution.

Helping Students Overcome Barriers to Education

The scholarship is part of the Expose Excellence Youth Program (EEYP), a community-driven initiative dedicated to empowering young people through education, mentorship, and skill-building opportunities. EEYP works closely with schools, churches, and local leaders to support youth development, ensuring students have the necessary resources to thrive. By providing scholarships like the Chakilla and Judge Lewis White Scholarship, EEYP helps remove financial obstacles that often stand in the way of students' academic and career success.

Through programs that focus on leadership development, career navigation, college readiness, and professional skills, EEYP strives to equip students with the tools they need for long-term success. The initiative is based on Positive Youth Development (PYD) principles, which emphasize self-efficacy, academic achievement, and career preparedness.

In addition to financial aid, EEYP participants benefit from career development workshops, resume-building sessions, civic engagement programs, leadership education, and exposure to the fine arts. By fostering relationships between students, educators, and community leaders, EEYP ensures that scholarship recipients and program participants have a strong foundation for success.
