The Waffle Bus to Bring Its Unique Take on Southern Classics to Bridgeland with Third Permanent Location
Food truck favorite, The Waffle Bus, will soon have a permanent spot at the Lakeland Village Centre in Bridgeland, according to a release. The brainchild of Phi Nguyen, The Waffle Bus earned its fame for offering a unique take on the southern staple of chicken and waffles.
Nguyen got his start in 2010 during a stint of joblessness. Noticing the prevalence of taco trucks, he wanted to bring something different to the food truck scene. The creation of The Waffle Bus, serving southern classics with a twist, was his solution.
After the success of the food truck, Nguyen decided to expand. His first brick-and-mortar location opened on North Shepherd Drive in 2019, followed by a second on West Alabama Street. Now, he is excited to bring The Waffle Bus to Bridgeland.
“The community is beautiful, and I’m excited to bring the Waffle Bus to Bridgeland to bring something new to the area,” Nguyen shared.
An assortment of The Waffle Bus favorites including Strawberry Irish creme brûlée with What sets The Waffle Bus apart is Nguyen’s dedication to his craft. He grinds his own flour to create the perfect waffle—crispy on the outside, light, and fluffy on the inside. With over a hundred recipes tested, it's clear that the quest for waffle perfection is serious.
The Waffle Bus menu features a host of mouthwatering offerings from a Buttermilk Fried Chicken and Waffle Sandwich to a hot and spicy MacDaddy Hot Chicken Sandwich. Don't forget to try their Chicken Fryders™, Nguyen's signature take on sliders, where the bun is replaced by waffle fries.
As for sweet delights, nothing beats their Strawberry Irish Crème Brulee. Add to this a selection of milk and cereal ice cream in flavors like Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Fruity Pebbles, Oreos, and Reese’s Puffs.
