Howard Hughes Corporation Breaks Ground on 70-Acre Village Green in Bridgeland Central
In a major milestone for Bridgeland Central, Howard Hughes Corporation has broken ground today on the 70-acre Village Green. Bridgeland Central, a burgeoning urban district spanning 925-acres, is nestled in the heart of Cypress and continues to attract significant business interest.
The first phase of Village Green will span 23 acres and will be home to an over 100,000-square-foot H-E-B grocery store, slated for completion by year's end. The project will also introduce an additional 28,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space by spring 2025. This announcement has sparked significant business interest and Howard Hughes Corporation intends to announce their lineup in the coming months.
Encouraged by this vibrant enthusiasm, the planning stages for the next 47 acres of Village Green have begun. "Today marks an important step in Bridgeland Central becoming a dynamic urban district and regional employment hub for all of Northwest Houston," stated Jim Carman, President of the Houston Region for Howard Hughes. He further emphasized the unparalleled scale of Bridgeland Central and its capacity to cater to the increasing demand for businesses seeking a vibrant, sustainable environment.
Bridgeland experienced record-breaking growth in 2023, selling 985 homes, thereby ranking amongst the top-five selling communities nationwide. This remarkable uptick has garnered attention from commercial entities and points to a promising future for Bridgeland Central. Notably, the recent acquisition of 77 acres by Chevron U.S.A. Inc. has solidified Bridgeland's status as a premier live-work destination.
