Neighborhood Playground to Receive New Kiddie Mulch Starting August 1 After Hurricane Loss
Families who use the Aberdeen Green playground will soon see a practical safety improvement beneath the play equipment. The community plans to install new kiddie mulch after much of the existing material was lost or displaced following the hurricane.
The project is scheduled to begin Aug. 1, 2026, and is expected to be completed by Aug. 15.
Playground Mulch Will Help Restore the Play Area
The new kiddie mulch will replenish the protective ground covering around the playground equipment. The existing material had become sparse after the hurricane, creating a need to restore the play area for neighborhood families.
Kiddie mulch provides a softer surface around playground equipment and helps maintain a more comfortable, usable space for children. Replenishing the material will also help preserve an amenity that Aberdeen Green residents use for outdoor recreation and time with neighbors.
Project Expected to Take About Two Weeks
The playground improvement is expected to take approximately two weeks to complete. The estimated project cost is $1,000.
Although modest in size, the project addresses a visible hurricane-related need and supports the continued upkeep of an important neighborhood amenity. Residents may notice work activity near the playground while the mulch is delivered and installed.
