Cy Ranch, Cy-Fair Win District Baseball Titles; Six Teams Enter Playoffs
The District 16-6A and District 17-6A baseball seasons ended on April 26, with six CFISD teams qualifying for the UIL playoffs.
Cypress Ranch High School won the District 16-6A championship with a 13-1 record in league play. Cypress Woods High School finished one game behind to claim the second seed at 12-2.
Bridgeland High School went 10-4 in district play and Cypress Falls High School will be the fourth seed at 7-7.
The following District 16-6A teams will enter the UIL Region II-6A playoffs with the following bi-district matchups:
- Cypress Ranch vs. Klein Collins:
- Game 1 – May 2 at 7:30 p.m. at Cypress Ranch High School (10700 Fry Road);
- Game 2 – May 3 at 7:30 p.m. at Klein Collins High School (20811 Ella Blvd.); and
- Game 3, if necessary – May 4 at 12 p.m. at Cypress Ranch High School (10700 Fry Road).
- Cypress Woods vs. Klein Oak:
- Game 1 – May 2 at 7 p.m. at Cypress Woods High School (13550 Woods Spillane Blvd.);
- Game 2 – May 3 at Klein Oak High School (22603 Northcrest Drive); and
- Game 3, if necessary – May 4 at 2 p.m. at Klein Oak High School (22603 Northcrest Drive).
- Bridgeland vs. Klein Cain:
- Game 1 – May 1 at 7 p.m. at Klein Cain High School (10201 Spring Cypress Road);
- Game 2 – May 2 at 7 p.m. at Bridgeland High School (10707 Mason Road); and
- Game 3, if necessary – May 3 at 4:30 p.m. at Klein Cain High School (10201 Spring Cypress Road).
- Cypress Falls vs. Tomball:
Cy-Fair High School won the District 17-6A championship for the fourth consecutive year with a 12-2 record in district play.
Jersey Village High School went 9-5 to earn the district’s fourth seed, finishing behind Spring Branch ISD’s Memorial High School and Stratford High School.
The following District 17-6A teams will enter the UIL Region III-6A playoffs with the following bi-district matchups:
- Cy-Fair vs. Houston Heights:
- Game 1 – May 2 at 7 p.m. at Cypress Springs High School (7909 Fry Road);
- Game 2 – May 3 at 4 p.m. at Cypress Springs High School (7909 Fry Road); and
- Game 3, if necessary – 30 minutes after the conclusion of Game 2.
- Jersey Village vs. Houston Lamar
